Tata Punch EV, a vehicle built in Tata’s new Pure EV Architecture is launching soon in Nepal. Sipradi Trading, the authorized distributor of Tata vehicles in Nepal, is launching this vehicle in the upcoming NADA Auto Show 2024.
We can already see the Punch ICE variant on Nepali roads, but the EV one launching soon is quite different from ICE variant. ICE version was a kind of failed variant in the Nepali market. It is expected that due to different designs and technology Punch.ev will be a good contender in EV lineups.
The new architecture is named “acti.ev” which features optimized battery pack with a 10 percent increase in density of battery, which definitely increase range of vehicle. On different variants punch ev has a range of 300 to 600KM which is very impressive in this price segment. Also the vehicle supports both AC and DC fast charging.
Design
The front part of the punch EV features a continuous LED DRL strip on top. This LED strip enhances the look of the vehicle and also the LED works as the charging indicator. There are turn indicators on the edge portions. The LED projector headlamps and fog lamps are also placed lower, which makes the looks of the vehicle more streamlined.
The grille of the Punch EV is minimalistic, whereas the bumper is more prominent with vertical line patterns giving it a robust presence. The charging port is situated at the front center, just below the Tata emblem, and can be opened both electronically and manually.
Additionally, this compact SUV features Frunk Storage, enhancing its overall storage capacity. From the side, the Punch EV has strong lines on the doors that give it a dynamic look. Although the side view might not be very exciting, the 16-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels add some style. At the back, the taillights have a horizontal Y-shaped pattern. The rear bumper is strong, matching the front’s design, and a rear skid plate adds to its tough appearance.
The “Punch.ev” badge is clearly shown, highlighting its electric nature. The design is finished with a stylish spoiler that improves aerodynamics.
Talking about the Interiors, Punch EV looks similar to Tata Nexon, the design looks comparable, maybe a bit better than Nexon. There is a dashboard with a 10.2-inch central touchscreen, also the instrument cluster is 10.2 inch. The front ventilated seats are set higher to help drivers see better, but taller passengers might find the legroom a bit tight.
The two-spoke steering wheel is covered in leatherette and has physical controls. Additionally, the 6-speaker Harman system delivers high-quality audio inside.
