To power this phone Nothing has kept MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC. It’s an octa-core processor constructed on TSMC’s 2nd generation 4nm technology, comprising 2 Cortex A715 prime cores clocked at 2.8GHz and 6 Cortex A510 secondary cores clocked at 2.0GHz. This makes this phone nearly as good as phones with flagship processors from snapdragon. For the GPU, the device utilizes the Arm Mali-G610 MC4 along with HyperEngine 5.0 to manage graphical tasks. To maintain optimal thermal performance, Nothing has incorporated an advanced liquid cooling system.
In terms of software, the Phone (2a) runs on Nothing OS 2.5, which is based on Android 14. The company promises 3 years of major OS updates and 4 years of security updates which makes the phone a no-brainer to buy in terms of software and security. Talking about internal storage and RAM, it is equipped with 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage variants.
