Galaxy A54 Launched in Nepal: Nearly Flagship-Like Feature in Mid-range Price

After the Galaxy A53 from the last year, Samsung launched this year’s mid-range A54 5G with some good specifications which could make it a decent phone to buy in a mid-range price bracket. Galaxy A54 launched in Nepal as well with the following specifications.

SPECIFICATIONS

DESIGN

The Samsung Galaxy A54 has a flat design and glass panels that are wrapped in an aluminum frame. The phone has a centered punch-hole cutout for the selfie snapper and slightly chunky bezels. The volume rocker and power button are on the right edge. The USB Type-C port, microphone, and speaker grille are at the bottom. At the upper part of the device, there is a slot for the sim tray and an additional microphone. The buttons for adjusting the volume and powering the device are located on the right side, while it has an under-display fingerprint sensor. A54 is certified with IP67 water and dust-resistant ability.

DISPLAY

Although the A54 5G has a smaller display of 6.4 inches than the A53 5G’s 6.5 inches, it is an enhanced Super AMOLED panel that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of 1000 nits under HBM.

The A54 5G, however, lacks HDR or Dolby certification and is only compatible with WideVine L1, which is essential for viewing HD content. Furthermore, the display of A54 is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

PROCESSOR/MEMORY/SOFTWARE

Samsung Galaxy A54 is powered by Samsung own’s Exynos 1380 chipset which is based on 5nm technology. This chipset has a CPU consisting of 4x Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and 4x Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. Likewise, it uses Arm’s Mali-G68 MP5 GPU.

Regarding connectivity, the device includes a built-in 5G modem that supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz networks. Additionally, the chipset provides dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and positioning through BeiDou, Galileo, GLONASS, and GPS GNSS.

Galaxy A54 in Nepal comes with memory of 8GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage and also with 8GB RAM and 256 GB storage for people who need larger storage capacity.

Samsung Galaxy A54 runs on Android 13 and One UI 5.1 on top of it.

CAMERAS

Samsung Galaxy A54 comprises of triple rear camera setup with 50MP main camera, 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro camera for macro shoots.

The primary camera of the A54 5G utilizes Sony’s high-end IMX 766 sensor, which boasts a 50MP resolution, 1/1.56″ sensor size, 1.0 μm pixel size, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). In contrast, the A53 5G had a 64MP primary sensor.

For selfies, the device is equipped with a single 32MP Sony IMX616 sensor on the front. Both the front and rear cameras of the A54 5G can record videos up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second.

Since Exynos 1380 is not the flagship level processor there may be some lag in the camera performance and image processing compared to the high-end S series phones.

BATTERY/CHARGING

Galaxy A54 comprises of 5000Mah battery. It supports 25 Watt fast charging, but the charger is not provided in the box.
